Blending Bicycle

Rising senior Charlie Patterson, a work study in the Collaborative Machining Center, recently designed and built extentions to his bicycle. The bicycle supports a self powered system for blending smoothies and ice beverages and the tow carries along enough supplies to provide for multiple servings.

The blending apparatus consists of an old blender hull mated to a 90 degree worm drive and bicycle cog. The cog is driven by a secondary rear cog on the hub of the rear wheel.

In tow, the ice cooler is supported by a coil spring hitch, conduit piping, and two old front wheels.

All organic, all healthy, all lean powered smoothies. Charlie takes his bike out for the first test ride with much success.
